Creamer & Sugar, Luckenbooth Bone China Thistle Pattern

Viking invasions of Scotland were carried out for almost 500 years. After many unsuccessful daylight attacks, the invaders planned a surprise attack in darkness. They crept, barefoot, before dawn, towards the Scottish defenders. Fortunately for the Scots one Viking stood on a Thistle and his agonised cry of pain roused the defenders who set upon the foe and the few survivors fled to their Longships. From that day, the Thistle became the emblem of Scotland.

Luckenbooth China is a small family business based in the southwest of Scotland. The pieces in the Luckenbooth Glass and China range carry traditional Scottish and Irish designs, most notable being the famous Scottish thistle design exclusive to Luckenbooth. All pieces are handcrafted in Moffatt, Scotland. We believe Luckenbooth's beautiful thistle pattern bone china is some of the finest we have found representing the national flower of Scotland.
