The Glengarry bonnet was worn at least as early as 1812. The cap is sewn with ribbons hanging down the back. The ribbons are not meant to be tied, as the Glengarry is a military style hat and should not show the status of your relationship.
Our black Glengarry hat has a band of red, white and black dicing. The left side of the Glengarry hat features a black grosgrain rosette, to which one of our clan cap badges can be pinned. Black grosgrain ribbon tails and trim and a classic red toorie (pom-pom or bobble) adorns the top, to provide the finishing touches to this smart military-style hat.
